4. GOD’S PLAN FOR THE RESTORATION OF MAN
4.1 The First Promise of Redemption
“I will put enmity between thee and the woman…” — Genesis 3:15
This is the first gospel promise, foretelling Christ’s victory over Satan.
4.2 Christ as the Promised Seed
The “seed of the woman” refers to Christ, who would defeat Satan at the point of sin’s origin.
4.3 Christ Became Human
“God sent forth His Son, made of a woman…” — Galatians 4:4–5
“He took part of flesh and blood.” — Hebrews 2:14
Christ became fully human while remaining divine.
4.4 Christ’s Nature
He experienced:
Hunger (Matthew 4:2)
Fatigue (John 4:6)
Thirst (John 19:28)
Yet He remained without sin (Hebrews 4:15).
4.5 Christ’s Dual Role
“Being in the form of God… took upon Him the form of a servant.” — Philippians 2:5–8
Christ united divinity and humanity.
4.6 Purpose of Christ’s Coming
“For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son…” — John 3:16
Christ’s death paid the penalty for sin.
4.7 Christ as High Priest
“He is able to succour them that are tempted.” — Hebrews 2:18
Christ understands human weakness and provides help in temptation.
Conclusion (Section 4)
Christ came to restore fallen humanity and rebuild God’s image in man. God’s plan is perfection and restoration (Matthew 5:48; 2 Peter 1:4–8).
